Camp Fire staff and volunteers handed out candy to more than 4,000 children on Halloween and received a generous donation of $40,000 from The Terry K. Watanabe Charitable Trust to expand our Snack Pack Project, which currently serves nearly 350 children in the Omaha area.

Camp Fire Gift Closet Event

Lulu’s Unique Boutique Gift Closet Event

Each year, LuLu’s Unique Boutique opens its doors for members of the Camp Fire Guild to bring an item for the Gift Closet in exchange for a discount on items in the store. While shopping, Guild members enjoyed wine and appetizers while helping the youth served by a collaborative program effort between Camp Fire USA and Child Saving Institute called Bridges to Success. This Independent Living Program is for youth 16–18, who will soon be released from the State of Nebraska and living on their own. Statistics show that many will not be successful. The goal of the program is to teach them the skills they need to survive through a 10 week class as well as one on one case management, which is tailored to each youth’s individual needs.

To find out more about how your business can help provide resources to these youth, please contact Abby Kossow at 218-3826 or akossow@campfireomaha.org.
