Camp Fire USA’s new home will do a lot more than house programs and staff. It will:

1. Increase Camp Fire’s capacity and commitment to serve children and their families throughout the greater Omaha metro.
2. Present a strategically located home-base for the more than 900 children living within a mile of the building.
3. Make Camp Fire open and available for kids during those vulnerable times when school is not in session, throughout the summer, in the evenings and on weekends.
4. Enable us to expand our innovative programming to address such critical topics as self reliance, community service and healthy life styles.
5. Provide a spacious and affirming educational environment for children to learn, grow and thrive.
6. Supply Camp Fire kids with a “yard of their own” with opportunities for play, recreation and hands-on gardening experiences.
7. Afford much needed room for our growing Snack Pack program, which provides kids easy-to-make, healthy meals. Without these meals, many children go hungry over the weekend.
8. Offer a hub for neighboring, businesses, families and organizations to meet.
9. Revitalize investment and interest in midtown and downtown Omaha.
10. Give Camp Fire kids a sense of belonging, purpose and meaning in an uncertain world.
