Many thanks to the women of Gamma Phi Beta – Epsilon Chapter at Creighton University who presented Camp Fire USA – Midlands Council with a check for $2,700 as a result of their March 31st Wing Fling. Braving a hail storm, the women banded together for the 2nd Annual event to benefit the children served at Camp Fire.

February 15, 2007 — Camp Fire USA, Council of the Midlands, will launch After-School at Roosevelt, a nationally-recognized educational program at Roosevelt Elementary School in Southwest Iowa this Spring. Thanks to a gift from the Iowa West Foundation, the Midlands Council will serve 30 children, ages 5 through 12, three afternoons per week at the school.

Libby Bekins had the type of party that every little girl dreams of…she and twenty of her closest friends riding in a limo to a salon to have their nails and makeup done. Yet, instead of having these friends bring gifts to celebrate her 6th birthday, Libby asked them to donate to Camp Fire’s Snack Pack Program. Her friends were not surprised though, as this is the second year in a row that Libby has used her birthday party as a reason to encourage them to give back to their communities.
